Facebook Ads Comments: Boosting, Moderation, and Auto-Replies

Write a comment / Советы-Полезности, Facebook

Comments in Facebook Ads can either increase conversion or completely destroy it. In this article, we’ll look at how to manage comments, moderate negativity, use auto-replies, and what to do if you need to boost comments Facebook for a specific task.

Standard cleaning comments according to API

Two good services immediately come to mind:FBToolAndDolphin Cloud.

The principle of their operation is approximately the same: you take a token from your account, thanks to which these services gain access to your ads, after which you either set a set of stop words or instruct them to clear everything.

Also in these services you can specify not to touch existing comments, which allows us to first generate positive reviews, and then hide/delete all new ones. In my opinion, it’s better to hide: if the comment is hidden, the user will not know about it, and he will have no reason to complain about the ad + Facebook considers the comment as positive activity, which has a good effect on our advertising!

Of the minuses:

  • slowness! Usually these services work once every half hour, during which time, on normal traffic, truth tellers manage to throw a bunch of crap at you in the comments
  • the token tends to fly off. Fussing with tokens is a pain, but without it, if you use a token from AdsManager, you won’t get anywhere

Dictionary cleaning

Beach style! A feature built into Facebook called “Page Moderation” will help us!

Go to your fan page from which you are going to advertise and go to the “Settings” section. There we are interested in two items, and the first of them is “Filter of obscene expressions”. We set it to maximum. Next, we go to the “Page Moderation” item, and here we will need to enter a set of words that we would absolutely not want to see in the comments under our advertisement.

Загрузка списка из файла
Loading a list from a file

Where can I get such a list? Here’s a good idea for you: to cleanalmost everythingcomments — found on the Internetfrequency dictionaryof the language whose GEO we will be pouring on, we sort it in descending order of frequency and push the top N words into our filter!

This way you will hide almost all comments altogether, because they are very likely to contain words from the frequency dictionary. Where can I get a frequency dictionary? Well,let’s say here.But just remove single-letter words from there, otherwise Facebook will not let you load the list!

In general, for many languages I have already done all the work for you and you can simplydownload the necessary dictionaries here.

Yes, do not open dictionary files in Excel, use regular Notepad or any other text editor, because Excel cannot work with UTF-8 encoding. In the end you should end up with something like this:

Moderation Assist

Working febe feature for cleaning comments! It is located in the Professional Dashboard section of your FP, and here are the options there:

We hide the comment if…
1️⃣ the author does not have an avatar;
2️⃣ there is an image in the comment;
3️⃣ there is a video in the comment;
4️⃣ fresh Facebook account (less than a week);
5️⃣ over the last 30 days, 3 or more comments of the author have been reported by other page admins;
6️⃣ set of stop words (still the same dictionary as in the point above);
7️⃣ the author of the comment has no friends;
8️⃣ there is any link in the comment, or the second option is a link to the specified site;
9️⃣ there is profanity in the comment (this seems to only work for English).

IMHO, excellent additional functionality for dictionaries: it often happens that users only publish some pictures with shit and that’s it. Now you can hide them automatically.

There is also an Activity Log where you can see the effect of the In action rules you have chosen, and also completely block particularly zealous haters. Don’t forget that these annoying people can be unloaded and later imported onto a new file.All the info about it is here.

TL|DR: Feel free to include the first 7 points and may the force be with you.

Cheat comments

Through exchanges/SMM panels

Elementary, Watson! You give users a task, tell them what they need to write, throw in some money… profit! Look at the following sites:

With the help of your FPs

A simple but very useful life hack:

  1. We create a bunch of FPs on the account, give them the names of people from the target GEO as names, for example: Anna Shwartz, Kate Brown, etc.
  2. We put photos of the desired gender on their avatars from ThisPersonDoesNotExist or wherever you want.
  3. After we have launched the advertisement, we go to our advertising posts and on behalf of these FPs we write the comments you need, we have conversations in which we discuss all the usual objections, etc.

By API

The principle of how it is donedescribed in a separate article, there is also an example of work.

Promotion services

At the moment I know only one public option —this is ComDrop.

Pros: accurate results, chains of questions and answers, reactions in comments.
Cons: $4 per task (may be expensive for some!)

First, a task template is created where the comments chains are written, with almost any flow, for example: A asks about delivery, B answers, A thanks, etc. Then accounts are selected, i.e. in the end, we know exactly who will be A and who will be B in the example above.

KILLER FEATURE: the ability to use the same template for any number of ads. SMM panels never dreamed of this 🤷

Well, then all this goes into processing, i.e. publication. In addition to the comments themselves, we also get reactions (likes, hearts, etc.) on them, which gives additional. trust.

Conclusions

We definitely need to work with comments in Facebook Ads, and it’s better to do it comprehensively: clean out what’s unnecessary, respond to what’s necessary, and add up to what we need. Ideally, all this would be automated as much as possible, so that you don’t have to reinvent the wheel every time.
